Ruins of Gibellina

In the night between the 14th and 15th of Jannuary 1968 the Valley of Belice was hit by an earthquake of 6,4째 Richter scale. 15 towns were badly damaged and the towns of Gibellina, Poggioreale, Salaparuta and Montevago were completlely destroyed. 370 people died and over 70.000 were left homeless.
